Convertible Loans

EIB provides investors with short-term loans during the construction period of the project, with the possibility of converting these loans into equity financing at the beginning of commercial operations of the project, in accordance with the terms and conditions of ElB's lending policies. Such loans provide an investor with help during the most difficult period of the project's life cycle. The possible conversion of the loans into equity can provide investors with flexibility in dealing with difficulties that can emerge at the initial stage of a project's implementation.
